The first maerd I had was when I was 9
I was standing on a thin concrete platform, high above high buildings.
“looks like a city,” I thought to myself.
Then I noticed vines latched onto cars, bits and pieces of litter and debris tumbling below me, and all the buildings looked abandoned.
“A ghost city,” I thought to myself.

“Don’t talk to Summer that way!” I suddenly said, grabbing her free wrist. I was shocked that I would ever talk to someone like that, I’ve never done it before…
“Out of my way, boy!” she said before yanking her out of my grasp, dragging a fearfully crying Summer to her house.
